As a testament to the unparalleled quality of our instructor staff, the APS President and Director of Flight Training are two of only 20 NAFI Master CFIs in the United States to receive "aerobatic" accreditation out of a field of over 90,000 CFIs and nearly 500 Master CFIs nationwide.

FACILITY: All APS training courses are headquartered in our modern corporate hangar/office facility centrally located at the Williams Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona. INDUSTRY STANDARDS: These critical assets, combined with our 13-years of business experience refining upset recovery training techniques that are common to all categories of fixed wing aircraft, make APS an unparalleled training resource. In addition to all training being in compliance with the FAA Upset Recovery Training Aid Revision 2, APS Emergency Maneuver Training (to our knowledge) is the only 141 Flight School certified upset recovery, spin and instrument recovery training course provider in the nation.

SAFETY & TRAINING AIRCRAFT: Safety of flight is paramount.

Real Aircraft Training: APS Training exclusively employs the German-built Extra 300L. In addition to being the world’s highest performance certified aerobatic aircraft, the Extra 300L is the safest, most structurally sound, ideally-suited upset recovery and advanced aerobatics training platform available in the marketplace. This aircraft is fully aerobatic, equipped with multiple-view digital video systems and certified by the FAA to a +/- 10 G envelope for your team’s safety.

Level D Simulator: Our primary Level D Full Flight Simulator (FFS) is an ERJ-145LR simulator right across the street from our facility at the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (KIWA). In cooperation with CAE, this simulator has proven to be an excellent generic upset recovery trainer for pilots of any multi-engine turbojet or turboprop aircraft. There are limitations to the extent of training that can be accomplished in a Level D simulator in relation to upset recovery training, however, there remains a tremendous amount high-quality life-saving instruction that can take place using this training platform.

CUSTOMER SPECIFIC: Despite the Extra’s superior performance and capabilities, all maneuver-based and scenario-based training exercises are taught in a manner that ensures each student is trained to apply recovery techniques within the performance envelope of their specific aircraft.

Our upset recovery and emergency maneuver training courses teach every participant to recover from any possible in-flight upset or flight envelope excursion. Most importantly, these APS training programs are focused on promoting “Recognition and Avoidance” through awareness flight training integrated with a thorough academic aerodynamic comprehension of each potential flight condition.
